Chris MILES
CIAM, QPIB, Director

Now approaching 30 years in the Insurance industry Chris started in Palmerston North as an adviser, culminating in Wellington in a senior management role with Prudential.  In 1993 he shifted to Auckland where he set up a successful food manufacturing and distribution business, which he sold in 1999 to shift back to Wellington.

In 2001 an opportunity arose to purchase Anchorage Brokers from the retiring owner and since then under Chris’ management the business has trebled in size.

Chris is a shareholder and founding Board member of the Allied Insurance Group, (www.alliedinsurancegroup.co.nz) set up by him and 3 other independent insurance brokers as a co-operative Cluster Group in 2005.  The Allied Insurance Group has continued to grow and currently has a membership of 27 insurance broker companies throughout New Zealand.  Chris was recently re-elected as the Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Chris has two adult daughters and lives with his wife Susie in Korokoro where they indulge in their interests of cooking and wine appreciation, landscaping, gardening and music. Chris is also an enthusiastic participant in Classic Car racing competing in his 1973 Holden Torana GTR XU1 at various race circuits in the North Island.

Malcolm MEYER
Account Manager

With 30 years experience in the Insurance industry, the majority of Malcolm’s working career has involved providing service to medium to large commercial clients. Starting with State Insurance in 1979 and performing a wide variety of roles growing into the role of Network Account Manager, Malcolm left State in 2002 to pursue a career as a broker.

Malcolm joined Anchorage Insurance Brokers in 2002 and is enjoying the opportunity to give the benefit of corporate experience to SME businesses.

Malcolm has two school age children, a son and daughter, and lives with his wife Tina in Wainuiomata.

Malcolm has an active interest in computers, kayaking, fishing and photography.

Brad JAMES
ANZIIF, Broker

After various roles in the finance and insurance industry including ACC and IAG NZ Ltd Brad took a role with Anchorage Brokers in June 2007 to administer the Claims Department. With Brad's assistance many Anchorage clients have been through the claims process to a mutually satisfactory conclusion. As Brad says “Getting a good result for our clients at claim time is crucial to a successful brokerage”.

Brad is also actively involved in obtaining and brokering his own accounts and achieved a Diploma of Financial Services (Insurance Broking) via the Australia, New Zealand Institute of Insurance & Finance (ANZIIF). Brad was an ANZIIF Highest Achieving Module Award Winner for 2009 for the NZ Insurance Law & Regulation Module.

In his spare time Brad enjoys watching sports, music and gardening and lives with his wife Lisa on the Kapiti Coast.

Lynda DOORNBOS
Broker Support

Starting in the insurance broking industry straight out of school in Palmerston North, fifteen years later in 2000 Lynda left to have a family.  She had had a variety of roles ranging from Administration Mgr, Domestic Broker and finally PA to the CEO.

Lynda is married to Glenn and they have two school age boys.  When she is not a very busy Mum, Lynda likes time-out for cafes, walking, church and their beach property.

As her boys are now at school Lynda decided it was time to return to the broking industry and she is a very welcome addition to the Anchorage team.
